PSP International is a top notch organization dedicated in producing only the best Police Service Dogs. PSP International is the only K-9 training program with PSP standards in the state of Texas, and is known for its quality, well trained dogs. Joe Tovar runs Texas State PSP and as graduate instructor of the "Landes Polizeischule Fur DiensthundFuhrer" has put together a training manual that surpasses any standards. It's Joe's passion to produce only the best Police Service dogs that gives the program its success. Joe's interest in service dogs began in 1978, while watching a K-9 demonstration at a local fair.  He was fascinated by the fact that these animals could take the place of seven to ten officers, performing the same duties. Wanting to learn more about the craft, Joe became involved with the local Police Department. At that time, K-9's were very new in the area, but Joe donated his time to learn everything there was to learn about the craft. He became a member of "Schutzhund USA, the "NASSA" club, and "USPCA". Building defense Drive Still not satisfied with the standards for Police Dogs here, Joe entered a course at the "Landes Polizeischule Fur DiensthundFuhrer" in West Germany; which is one of the biggest and most well respected schools in the world. Joe trained under Police officer and instructor, Felix Fisher, who has more than thirty years of Police dog training behind him. Teaching Joe all he would need to know to start his own school; which Joe modeled after the "Landes Polizeischule Fur Diensthund Fuhrer." Joe continued to educate himself and has earned his A.A. in Criminal Justice and a B/A degree in Psychology in order to assist and educate his fellow graduate's. Any team graduating from Texas State PSP is a confident team and ready to hit the streets.
