THEORETIC
INSTRUCTIONS
The participants will be instructed in:
- All existing commercial explosives
and their origin.
- Possibilities of homemade explosives.
- The necessity of the explosive
dog team to fight terrorism.
- Legal parameters for the use
of the explosive detection dog team.
- Behavior in court cases.
- Terrorist and their international
network and religious beliefs.
- Latest investigation in the
use of explosives for criminal activity.
- Explosives dog sense of smell
and olfactory system.
- Association of explosive training
aides.
- Cutting, handling and keep explosive
as training aides according to ATF regulation and policy.
- Preparing and keeping training
reports.

PRACTICAL
INSTRUCTIONS
Instructors from PSP INTERNATIONAL.
The participants will be instructed and
trained in:
- Cutting and preparing training
aids.
- Safe and proper use of training
aids.
- Preparing and keeping training
reports.
- Reading and understanding the
dog's reaction and alerts.
- Working together with explosive
team and ATF and their equipment.
The dog will be trained in:
- Alerting on plastic explosive
(Military detonation cord).
- Alerting on smokeless black
powder (Safety fuse).
- Alerting on dynamite (military
and civilian).
- Alerting on TNT.
- Avoiding misleading scents.
- Searching in residences, large
buildings, stalls, airports, stadiums and vehicles.

DETECTION DOG TEAM TRAINING CLASS
There is not an exact time schedule for the different training
phases. It will depend on the dog's abilities and the progress
in training. |
First Week
A. Theoretic Instructions.
- Knowledge of the dog's abilities.
- Knowledge of explosive scent.
- Knowledge of forming and association
and maintaining it.
- Knowledge of cutting and preparing
training aids for plastic explosive, searching
B. Practical training.
- Association of explosive and
drive development and conditioning.
- Forming an association to plastic
explosives.

Week
A. Theoretic Instructions.
- Knowledge of possibilities and
boundaries of the dog in explosive detection.
- Knowledge of handling explosives
for training.
- Knowledge of all existing commercial
explosive.
B. Practical training.
- Searching for plastic explosives
in simple hiding places.
- Training for pinpoint alerts.
- Drive development.

Week

- Knowledge of legal aspects.
- Knowledge of court behavior.
- Terrorists and their international
network and religious beliefs.
- Knowledge of cutting dynamite.
B. Practical Training.
- Searching for plastic explosives.
- Forming an association to dynamite.
- Searching for dynamite.
- Drive development and conditioning.
- Training for pinpoint alerts.

and it most common use and safety measures.
- Knowledge of latest investigation
of explosive crime.
- Nature of the dog's sense of
smell and possibilities of its use for other searches.

networks.
